Materials: Worsted-weight yarn: 32 oz. background color, 24 oz. lattice color, 8 oz. flower color (total of any combination of colors desired). G hook (4.25mm)
Stitches: U.S. terminology ch = chain sc = single crochet dc = double crochet trc = triple crochet
sp = space sl = slip st(s) = stitch(es) rnd = round beg = beginning sk = skip
Color A = background color; Color B = lattice color; Color C = flower color:
When changing colors, yarn over hook with new color and draw through last loops of last st of old color (loop on hook is ready to begin new color). When working with two colors of yarn, work over color not in use.
Square (make 48)
Rnd 1: With color C yarn, ch 2, 8 sc in second ch from hook.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, sc in beg sc, (ch 3, sc in next sc) 7 times.
Rnd 3: Sl st to ch-3 sp, ch 3, holding last loop of each trc on hook, 3 trc in beg ch-3 sp, yarn over hook, pull through all 4 loops on hook – beg 4-trc cluster made, ch 3, * holding last loop of each trc on hook, 4 trc in next ch-3 sp, yarn over hook, pull through all 5 loops on hook – 4-trc cluster made, ch 5, 4-trc cluster in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, repeat from * twice; 4-trc cluster in last ch-3 sp, ch 5, sl st in top of beg trc cluster. MATERIALS:
For an afghan 49″ wide by 56″ long
14 , 3-oz skeins of Color A and Color B
For smaller afghan,
4 1/2 (1.75-oz) skeins of Color A and Color B
Use Size J hook
ORIGINAL DIRECTIONS: To read altered instruction, see pattern below
Chain loosely to size, using color A.
Finish off last ch with color B, leaving a tail about 6″ long; turn.
In 2nd ch, sc across. Finish off with color A, (leaving 6″ tail again); turn.
*Starting in first st of color B, pick up top of sc plus top of sc of previous row and sc across to end.
In last st, do half a sc (by pulling loop of color B through both stitches), then finish off st with color A, leaving 6″ tail; turn. Cut off end of previous color, leaving tail. Starting in first st of color A, pick up top of sc plus top of sc of previous row and sc across to end.*
Repeat between * for desired length. On last row, finish by picking up both stitches in top row, plus top of previous row’s stitches. You will sc through 3 stitches.
Fasten off. If you wish, tie the “tails” in groups of 3-5, making a finished fringe look.

Size: Approx. 32″ x 36″.
Materials:
Sport-weight yarn Jamie Baby (100% Acrilan® Acrylic, 196 yards per 1-3/4 oz. skein) by Lion Brand: 4 skeins each #200 White (Col A) and #257 Pale Yellow (Col B). Crochet hook size F/5 (4mm) or whatever size needed to get correct gauge; Yarn Needle.
Gauge:22 sc and 10 rows = 3″ in Ripple pattern. To make gauge swatch, work instructions for Ripple Stitch Strip for 10 rows total. Piece should measure 3″ x 3″. To save time, take time to check your gauge.
*Yarn requirements suggested in this leaflet are adequate. If you make any adjustments in length or width, or if your stitch gauge differs from the recommendation, then the yarn amount may not be sufficient.
Ripple Stitch Strip (make 5 strips each of Col A and Col B)
Row 1: Ch 22, work 2 sc into 2nd ch from hook, *sc into each of next 4 ch, skip 1 ch, sc into each of next 4 ch, 3 sc into next ch; repeat from * to end, ending last repeat with 2 sc in last ch; turn.
