Materials:

1 pair of anklet socks (white used in example)

72 beads (multi-colored tri beads used in example)

Lustersheen yarn (white used in example)

Crochet Hook Size D or F (3 or 3.75) (D used in example)

Skill Level: Beginner

String 36 beads on the yarn before beginning each sock edging.

Instructions:

With the top and back of the sock facing you, join the yarn with a sl st to the edge of the sock by piercing the rim of the sock.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, (sc in rim of sock, ch 1, pull up bead, ch 1) around entire rim of sock spacing beads evenly, join with a sl st in 1st sc. Finish off and weave in the ends.

For 2nd sock repeat the directions for the sock edging pattern.

Note: Fold top of sock down so that the back of the edging is showing as the beads show up better on the back of the work.

Variation (2 rnds of sts and try using 72 pony beads or some other kind of beads):

With top and back of sock towards you, join the yarn with a sl st to the edge of the sock by piercing the rim of the sock.

Rnd 1: Piercing the edge of the sock with crochet hook, sc around the edge of the 1st sock, join with sl st in first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, pull up bead, ch 1) around entire rim of sock spacing beads evenly, join with a sl st in 1st sc. Finish off and weave in the ends.

For 2nd sock repeat the variation directions for the sock edging pattern.

When you fold down the top of the sock the beads will show well.
